Chabad of the Sunset and Student Center – Providing Judaism, Joyfully!

Inspired by the teachings and legacy of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Chabad of the Sunset and Student Center was established in 2006 by Rabbi Yisroel and Hadas Zaetz. It is a unique blend of campus and community. Located in the heart of the Sunset District, Chabad opens its doors to families, young adults, and students from universities across the city. Chabad is dedicated to making the beauty and joys of our Jewish traditions and heritage accessible, relevant, and meaningful.
We welcome and accept all Jews, regardless of affiliation or background!
So send us an email, give us a call, sign up to our email and mailing list, and browse through our website. We encourage you to learn more and become and active participant in and supporter of our vibrant and growing community- we look forward to personally greeting you at an upcoming event or class.

Raabi Yisroel Zaetz:
I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I completed my Rabbinical Studies at 770 Chabad-Lubavitch Headquarters in 2003 and then went on to do community and campus outreach work. My passion is meeting new people and creating new relationships. I enjoy giving all kinds of adult education classes in various Torah topics. In 2013 I began work as a Jewish Prison Chaplain in Solano County. I strongly believe that any Jew deserves to be connected to his/her heritage and roots, wherever they may be.
Mrs. Hadas Zaetz:
I am originally from Long Beach, CA. After graduating from high school at the Hebrew Academy in Huntington Beach, I went on to study at Bet Chana Seminary in Tzfat, Israel. I completed a two year teacher training program, specializing in Early Childhood Education. I have taught children ages 3-5 for 15 years and have been the Kindergarten teacher at Beis Menachem Yeshiva Day School in SF since 2011.
I love having an open home, inviting and hosting Jews from all walks of life, who find themselves in S. Francisco. We hope to continue to strengthen Jewish identity and awareness in the Sunset District and on university campuses throughout the city. Together with our six children, we form a powerful team that brings warmth and happiness to friends, families and the community around us.
